Through a series of postures, breathing and meditation, yoga is said to be the perfect union of mind, body and spirit. A teacher will guide the class through a series of moves, with the emphasis on precision and exact alignment.
Why should I practice?
Researchers found that overweight people in their 50s who regularly practiced yoga lost about five pounds, while a group in the same age range gained about 13 1/2 pounds over the same period. Weight loss is just one of the many benefits that arise from practicing yoga. Yoga aids in building flexibility, strength and well-being. With regular practice most practitioners find that there is marked improvement in one’s overall quality of life.
